Easter – a time for resurrection and renewal

aster a time for renewal, new habits, positive changes, resurrection

For Christians all around the world, Easter is one of their most important and significant holidays. Easter celebrates Jesus’s resurrection and marks a time of hope, renewal, and rebirth - a reminder of life restored.

Resurrection is the promise of new life through death—and new hopes are only born from the death of old hopes.

Whatever our faith, the idea of resurrecting from all that dismays and wounds us is essential to our well-being. The idea that we can recover and be renewed can provide us with faith, and keeps us going, even when hope seems lost.

The Easter message is one of forgiveness and rebirth – every day, we can start anew. It’s about overcoming impossible challenges in our life and rising from the depths of despair to the promise of a new day. It’s about recovering our worth and self-esteem at any given moment.

I love the concept that we can renew, start again, live again and even love again after terrible heartbreaks and disappointments.

This Easter, why not choose to renew parts of yourself that you have hidden from the world, that you think are damaged, that you have given up on, that you don’t deem worthy of love?

On Good Friday Pontius Pilot sentenced Jesus to death by crucifixion, after Judas identified and betrayed Jesus. How do you betray yourself and your dreams?

Easter Sunday is the day that Jesus rose from the dead and symbolised the triumph of good over evil. What habits do you want to let go of, to make room for new positive habits that will bring renewal to you?

Whatever your religion, why not take some time to reflect on your own rebirth and renewal. What new pages can you turn in your life? Maybe you have been procrastinating going to the gym and prioritising your health, or have stopped taking your favourite art class that brings you so much joy.

My wish for you this Easter, is that you will be reminded that there is hope, and to keep the faith however lost or dismayed you feel. Resurrection is possible for us all, as is renewal and rebirth.
